Hull RUFC reached the final of the Centurion Yorkshire Cup for the second consecutive year after a hard fought 15-11 win at Cleckheaton on Wednesday night.
In a side containing three First XV debutants, Hull took the lead with an unconverted try from scrum-half, Will Robinson, who raced 60 metres from the base of the scrum. Matt Beasty replied with a penalty goal for Cleckheaton for an interval score of 5-3.
A try in the 43rd minute and another penalty goal from Beasty three minutes later put the home side further ahead, but tries from lock Max Lewis and debutant winger Richard Fernhead put Hull back into a winning lead.
With Upper Wharfedale defeating cup holders Huddersfield 22-20 at Lockwood Park, the final will be at Clifton Park, the home of York RUFC, next Wednesday. Kick-off time to be confirmed.
