Hull Rugby Union was formed in 1992 as a result of a merger between Old Hymerians and Hull and East Riding RUFC. Old Hymerians were formed in 1925 whilst the Riding could trace their origins back to 1901.
We are proud of our history and our routes and still have a strong connection with the Old Hymerians (O.H.) as we currently have over 12 OH’s playing in our senior sides.
After several promotions the club now find themselves playing in National League 2 North were they aim to establish themselves. The club currently plays their home matches at The Ferens Ground in Hull, which is a 15 acre site on Chanterlands Avenue in the City.
The clubs long term goal is to establish itself and become recognized as a leading club in the area delivering a high level of Coaching via it’s experienced Coaching Team and creating an enjoyable environment for players to excel.
We are always working hard to improve facilities and over recent seasons a number of investments have been made such as the construction of a new state of the art playing surface, Changing Rooms and Spectator Stand.
We are committed to our local Community and have over the years delivered Rugby Union into a number of local schools and Colleges in the area via our Rugby Development Officers.
We have a Partnership with Bishop Burton College and work closely with them to help coach and develop young elite players via their Academy Programme.
We run 3 senior sides, a ladies team and a rapidly expanding Mini and Junior section.
Our overall aim is to use Rugby Union as a platform to engage, inspire and motivate people young and old to make a positive influence on their lives.
So please come on down and give us a Try!
